Edge of Tomorrow
So, after almost a decade posting on this blog, I now find myself a few hours away from my next step in my vfx career, I'm moving to Chicago and will be there for three years, maybe longer. My last post from the shores of my island, my home and my little part of Surbiton.
Excited, stressed, nervous, happy and sad, it's been a great 7 years in London and hopefully several great years in the USA !!

Another little insight into my workflow and how I approached the vfx for 'Our Kind of Traitor' - Working directly with the directors and supervisor is always the most rewarding aspect. The brief was to create a beautiful yet haunting moment in the films climax...

Magpie
It's awards season and I'm currently working my way through the nominees that are available to watch with on demand streaming websites. The survivalist which was nominated for 'Outstanding Debut' at BAFTA is a film about living after theoretical collapse of civilisation.
After the standard post film trivia digging I came across the directors vimeo page in which there is a short film that is essentially a prequel to the feature called 'Magpie'

Cinefex 141
An ambition of mine when I started out was to be mentioned by name in the industry standard magazine called Cinefex. The most recent edition has a small but incredibly humbling reference to the animation work I produced for Jupiter Ascending, which was released earlier in the year.
